LIVESTOCK GUARDIAN DOGS
Our Livestock Guardian dogs work tirelessly day in and day out to protect our farm animals. They offer 24/7 protections from predators. We are proud to say that we have not lost any animal due to predators where the dogs are able to protect. We love to state that our guardian dogs are worth their weight in gold. We are so very thankful for our guardians.
ABOUT THE BREED
The Great Pyrenees was once known as the royal dog of France and, with a stunning white coat and imposing presence, is considered to be one of the most beautiful breeds. Their heritage is that of a flock-guarding dog in the Pyrenees mountains of France and Spain. Rather than herding sheep or other livestock, it was his job to protect them from predators such as wolves. The job called for a large, powerful, brave, and wary dog. The Great Pyrenees worked independently, often on their own for days or weeks at a time, and is unaccustomed to taking a lot of orders.
This is Mya's first litter of puppies that she had in 2016. All of them became wonderful guardians at their own farms!
Mya and her lone female from her litter in 2017. The owners named this female Lilly. Lilly was definitely a momma's girl, as you can tell.

We have some of our puppies available throughout the year. Our puppies are purebred. All of our adult dogs could be registered with the CKC registry, but we have found that farmers prefer good guardians without papers. They come from diligent working parents on the farm and are exposed to all of our animals. Being exposed to our animals, especially our free range feathered friends, makes our puppies have a wonderful start to a great life of being a fantastic farm guardian. These are some photos from our last three litters that we have had on the farm.
